6 Days Phnom Penh to Angkor Wat By Bike

ITINERARY

Once known as the "Pearl of Asia", Phnom Penh was considered one of the loveliest of French-built cities in Indochina in the 1920s. Phnom Penh, along with Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, are significant global and domestic tourist destinations for Cambodia. On this six-day tour, we’ll visit them all. You’ll see the Royal Palace, Phsar Thmei, and other French style buildings along the grand boulevards of Phnom Penh. You’ll also experience the wonder that is the temple complex of Angkor Wat.

DAY 1: Phnom Penh 35km cycling (B, L, D)
Explore the city’s major sights by bike including the National Museums of Khmer Art, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the Toul Sleng Museum of Genocide S21, and the Killing Field.

DAY 2: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap 28km cycling (B, L, D)
We take a speedboat to Siem Reap, crossing Tonle Sap Lake. Then we do a 15km-ride to the hotel. In the late afternoon, we’ll take a sunset tour of Phnom Bakheng. Stay overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 3: Siem Reap to Angkor Small Circuit 25km cycling (B, L, D)
In the morning, we cycle the main road to the Angkor Wat complex, where you will first see the Kravan Wat and the Banteay Kdei. Then, we’ll enjoy lunch at the foot of the famous Ta Phrom, which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and overgrown vegetation.

DAY 4: Banteay Srei & One Thousand Lingas 90km cycling (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we take the main road and cycle west for about 2km to Angkor Wat. We’ll then take a rural route to see the rice fields, villages, and pagodas of the countryside on our way to Banteay Srei. We will take some time to admire the temple, and will enjoy lunch there.

DAY 5: Beng Mealea 100km cycling (B, L, D)
We head to Beng Mealea temple after having breakfast. Beng Mealea is an untouched temple hidden in the jungle; it has a unique character, which cannot be found in any other temple. We’ll enjoy some time there and then make our way back to Siem Reap to stay overnight.
