11 Days Cycling Vietnam

ITINERARY

After a half-century marred by war and economic stagnation, Vietnam has come into its own with a tireless energy few places can match. Experience Vietnam from south to north by bike on this eleven-day trip..

DAY 1: Saigon - Cat Tien National Park Cycking 30km (L, D)
Transfer out of the city. Start cycling on quiet countryside road to Nam Cat Tien national park. We do a short trekking in the forest to see many old trees in the park after cheking in and take a jeep to see the wild animals in the evening. Overnight in the park.
DAY 2: Cat Tien – Da Lat City 60km Cycling (B, L, D)
We start cycling through the forest in the park to Madagui area. Transfer to Dalat and continue biking here. We visit flower fields, coffee plants and mushroom farm (depends on season). Back to Da Lat for overnight.
DAY 3: Da Lat to Nha Trang 100km Cycling (B, L, D)
We take a fun downhill journey from the cool misty mountains down to the coastal region of Khanh Hoa Province. We coast down the spectacular weaving and winding pine-treed road, past breathtaking mountain scenery and rugged countryside. We’ll then transfer the rest of the way to the coastal city of Nha Trang, where we’ll also spend the night.
DAY 4: Nha Trang to Tuy Hoa of Phu Yen 120km Cycling (B, L, D)
We drive north for about 50 km in the morning. From there, we cycle along the well-paved road that runs along the Reunification Express Railroad. Stop for lunch at the half-moon shaped Dai Lanh Beach. We spend the afternoon cycling up the coast to the town Tuy Hoa and stay overnight here.

DAY 5: Phu Yen to Quang Ngai 70km Cycling (B, L, D)
We get to cycle the quiet back roads to Quy Nhon with gorgeous natural scenery and beaches.

DAY 6: Quang Ngai to Hoi An 50km Cycling (B, L, D)
We come face-to-face with one of the biggest tragedies of the Vietnam/America War – the My Lai Massacre. Then we cycle through more of the rural countryside and visit a local pagoda, before looping back to the highway, from where we’ll transfer to the quaint ancient town of Hoi An.

DAY 7: Hoi An 50KM Cycling or free at leisure (B)
You have the option of resting your tired legs in Hoi An or visiting the area around My Son. We transfer out of town before cycling along the country roads along the Song Tranh River to My Son. Head back to Hoi An via the van in the afternoon.

DAY 8: Hoi An to Hue 100km Cycling (B, L, D)
The van takes us beyond the coastal city of Danang and on to Hai Van Pass. For over 10 km, we climb about 500 meters, into the ever-present mist with a fantastic payout at the top: stunning views of Lang Co Beach. Depending on how much energy you have left, we can cycle all the way to Hue along the peninsula.

DAY 9: Train from Hue to Ha Noi Capital (B, L, D)
Explore Hue and visit the citadel. Take a boat ride along the Perfume River and visit tombs of the Nguyen emperors. Transfer to the train station.

DAY 10: Ha Noi City Tour – No Cycling (B, L, D)
Arrive in Hanoi. City tour to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex and One Pillar Pagoda. Free in the afternoon.

TESTIMONIALS

16 Unforgettable Days - Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) - Hanoi"Thank you so much to Vietnam Bike Tours for making this an unforgettable experience for my wife, my daughters, their boyfriends and me. On bikes you really get the opportunity to feel, smell, taste and hear the country.
Both before and during our holiday the planning and communication from Ly at Vietnam Bike Tours was excellent. This has been an important factor for us to allow us to fully relax and enjoy.
The cycle-guides (Tien from Ho Chi Minh to Hue and Zang in Hanoi) were world-class. There were happy, caring, informative, flexible and pleasant. On the first 11 days of our trip we were followed and supported by a very service-oriented and safe driver, Ngia. All meals were selected to allow us to taste as much of Vietnam as possible - and always tasty and well-prepared - both is street kitchens and high-end restaurants. One highlight was a lunch at Tien's parents home.
We can warmly recommend Vietnam Bike Tours and hope to be back in Vietnam soon."
